I know everyone says they're a longtime alien fan but I've been a nerd over this for 3 decades. This movie was awesome, the acting was good the action was even better and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. There were homages to previous alien films done really well and the main two actors absolutely slayed their characters. This is the third best Alien movie for me right after Alien and Aliens, my buddy who saw it with my group just started watching alien and said this was his favorite out of all of them. Much better than Covenant and Prometheus 10/10.

I gave this two stars because the animation is at least good. The voice acting is subpar for over half of the cast and the writing is all over the place. They make a lot of changes to characters like the last show only not for the better, I knew it wasn't going to be good after the first episode. 5 episodes deep and it doesn't get better. There's some obvious agenda pushing but that aside it's just not good. You're better off rewatching the original.

Without a doubt the worst Star Wars film in history in my opinion. The film has major plot holes in it and several characters that serve no purpose whatsoever, I won't spoil anything major but the entire plot seems like it was made up in 10 minutes. In this story the resistance is running from the First Order for about 2 hours of run time, simply using hyperspeed over and over until they run out of fuel. Yea that's 80% of the movie right there. Finn goes off on a side mission with a new character Rose to find a way to stop the First order and accomplish nothing at all. Seriously if Finn was in a coma the entire movie it wouldn't have a single impact on the ending of the film. Meanwhile Rey is on a backwater planet to get training from the great Luke Skywalker. Except this character is not Luke at all. His personality is completely different and his views on the jedi and basically everything have made a complete 180 and he goes from the hopeful sincere and caring character we all loved in the old movies to a disgruntled old man who apparently doesn't care about anything anymore. Rey ends up training herself by swinging at the air randomly until she goes to a cave and suddenly becomes a master at using the force with practically zero training, accomplishing feats that Jedi masters who have trained their entire lives would have trouble with. This completely under utilizes her character and misses a major opportunity to have great character development for one of the most interesting characters in the movie. Instead they take the easy way out by just making her great at everything. On top of all these problems the solution to the main conflict I stated early is a major canon-breaking tactic that throws the logic of space battles on their head. I thought episode 7 was okay and still better than episode 2 so I had hope they would turn this into a great trilogy but after this film I am genuinely concerned for the future of this trilogy.
