As I began to watch this movie I thought about how it was just going to be another film that showed an unlikely alliance between a white and black person (which it did) but showed the hardship that was to come after. This film is severely underrated and deserves more recognition and not just because of the actors that star in it but also because this film is based on a true story that shows us the reality back then. Not all white people hated African Americans and not all African Americans hated white people. However, the KKK was a group that did not take kindly to African Americans. It is crazy to believe that the very leader of the KKK ended up changing his belief to support the African American community. A person who was raised to hate black people and believe that they are a superior race. They ended up becoming great friends until C.P. died in 2005 and Ann died in 2016. She even gave a eulogy at his funeral! Not all people are bad and people can change.
