Cypherus

An interesting twist on an old theme but sadly the Kurtzman drool and its aftertaste still take the edge off what could have been more or indeed wanting more. Why the studio persisted with him in the mix is unclear but they appear to be besotted with his personal seasoning leaving the program much like Marmite, you either love it or you are going to hate it so badly. As for Patrick Stewart, much like Bruce Willis, there are some actors that really need to be taken to one side and told it is time to retire before the light really does go out.

What could have been an intriguing movie turned out not to even make the grade as a really REALLY bad 'B' movie with lazy scenes, lazy scriptwriting and as far as Willis was concerned lazy acting. A sort of running man remake for geriatric actors where even the undergrowth provided more interest. There is a time when people should know it is time to move on in life to a retirement home and debate politics with the TV and Willis appears to have reached that point in recent years.

While the series itself has been slightly off the wall and filled with a number of buttery characters better suited to Mork and Mindy. Sadly the two episodes of series 4 I have watched so far confirmed my suspicions about the show, the latest offering dripping literally with gut-churning angst, not just the odd character here and there but all of them suffering from torrential self-loathing and self-esteem issues for incidences they themselves had zero control over, it seemed the whole cast was stalking the corridors wailing and wringing their hands and if not doing that they employed their time mopping up after some other agonised soul who was. I got the feeling from comments via Netflix that while the loss of the series was sudden they were not going to cry too much about its departure and I can see why. Might drop in later to test the waters but I will not be trying to hard to follow it from now on.

An interesting series that for some reason is struggling to gain traction with a multitude of fractured storylines all running at once all anchored on one source point. It has the potential to become a great series given time to mature, will the money allow it that time. We shall see.

Watched this one with interest, although it naturally downplayed the real aspects of Germany at that time it did show that in certain places momentum was there trying to put the place to rights through which this storyline wove a very delicate path, having had relatives that were in the city at that time describe their own impressions you can easily see how such things could happen and did happen daily. Not sure if there will be a second series taking these characters forwards but if there is I will certainly be one that watches it.

An interesting appraisal of a harrowing multiple murder, Bamber's story at the time to a lot that witnessed him was full of holes, the actions of the detective in charge only served to prolong the process of bringing him to justice which thankfully one detective would not give up on, it is hoped that he serves the rest of his days locked away never to walk the streets again.

Twisted, convoluted, call it what you will but you really do have to be English to get it and the synergy with today's situation is quite exquisite.

Great film but so full of holes it really spoils it, starting with Strange and ending with Captain A. Enjoyed it otherwise.

Cobbled together from the cutting floor sweepings was my first impression of this version over the commercial comic first released and sad that the impending threat was not covered more than the cursory comment akin to saddle the horses we ride at dawn. That said the film was entertaining and a different take on the original storyline to make it worth the watch though the sad sight of a geriatric Batman constantly late for the action because his knees are giving him trouble, well you get the picture but its good finally to see SM shedding his nice guy side and really getting badass for a change, all those superpowers have always seemed a little wasted on him without the odd arm ripped off and a few hundred casualties. Enjoyed the film overall and hope that Snyder knocks up a few more in this vein.

As with all US TV dross, a program filled with snivelling hysterical paranoid Americans and we are expected to engage with this nonsense as one second there all bigging each other up while the next stabbing each other in the face, toss in a bucket load of international warmongering and posturing and you have the perfect receipt for yet another cancelled show.
