*Spoiler Alert:
Well, I know most audience are merely looking for entertainment, but Guy Ritchie and his crew should consider a bit of intelligence audience may bring with them on their seats.
While they thought that they can threw an AI software (that can control any system!!) as the stolen "item" that is to be sold for billions of dollar to make the story tempting to the younger generation and give everything a modern outlook, they must have also asked themselves the following questions, because most of the current generation who actually use AI know these that will damages the whole experience:
Selling the hard drive containing the AI software is the "core" of the story. All the events are turning this one thing. People, scientises, government contractors, gang members, black market leaders are getting involved and killed to get hold of the hard drive.
But since at least 8 years ago, who for God sake carries, transfers and sells any software on a hard-drive locked in a suitcase?! For the past decade almost all software are living on Cloud services, and for Guy's info the Internet was a thing before AI.
The idea of an AI software that can control any system in the world is unrealistic and should be revised. It would be helpful for the filmmakers to spend at least 10 minutes to consult with experts in the field of AI and software engineering to ensure that the technical aspects of the story are accurate and plausible. This would make the story more believable and help the audience to engage with the characters and their motivations.
Had they asked they would have known that no AI can hack and control "any system in the world" simply because AI needs training on any specific subject to be able to reproduce the actions. AI's need to have access to HUGE amount of learning data and often spend months of training hours and fine-tuning to be able to be used somewhat efficiently. So for example you cannot ask -say- chatGPT to take control of a banking system because chatGPT is only trained on a Large Language Model.
Cognitive AGI's are still a far fetch dream and even if they were real and here today, you won't need a scientist to take it on a hard drive, in a suitcase and fly it over to London or Turkey, so NONE of the event s in the movie needed to happen.
None!
The use of a hard drive to transport the software is outdated and not in line with current technological trends. Instead, the software could be stored on a more modern device or accessed through a secure online platform.
Finally, the portrayal of computer geniuses could be improved by having them use a wider range of keyboard keys other than just D F G J K L DFG J K L, as this would add to the realism of the scenes. At least in close ups!
And if you are about to tell me these are knit picking and don't help the story telling, I would say why actually show a photorealistic explosion, or gun or a computer on screen? Fire a match stick, or a plastic orange and blue gun or draw an Apple logo on a piece of cardboard. Then I will accept that you might had some sort of a surreal concept about telling me a software being placed in a funny bag that led to everyone killing everyone else.
But until then, the whole thing, no matter how well made doesn't make any sense to begin with
