I was impressed by Cassidy Hutchinson's courage, honesty, and intelligence as I watched the January 6 Committee presentation.
The interviews on The Lawrence O'Donnel Show and the Rachel Maddow Show at the time of the publication of her book revealed more of her good character and integrity.
I bought "Enough" and learned more about her background, the very high position she held at the White House. The nature of her position was a right hand executive assistant to Mark Meadows, in close proximity to the President, rather than a young secretary.
The book is a courageous and revealing story. It is an interesting, well written account of her experiences during a most important time in our nation's history.
In every time there are those who come forward to tell the truth, too often at personal risk.
This quote of Edmund Burke comes to mind:
"All that is necessary for evil to prevail is that good men should remain silent."
Cassidy Hutchinson has written an account that shines a light on the events, the movers and shakers, a behind-the-scenes view of this time.
There will be those who will view her as a hero, as I do. The truth matters. It should matter most.
In this time, the truth tellers may be maligned because the truth doesn't fit into what some believe. They may want to hold onto those beliefs, no matter how much the truth refutes that.
I am thankful for the life of this young American who has come forward to tell the truth. Her first hand account is important, an eye witness view, which will be important in accounts written by historians after the event.
