They must have paid Reese Witherspoon a *lot* of money to play this part. I thought the movie had a very interesting premise, but like a bunch of people in the review section have mentioned, this movie is so unrealistic and privileged. Even though the three boys supposedly didn't have a lot of money/were struggling so much that they moved in with a random stranger and her kids, they still basically never had to worry about money the entire movie. Not to mention, I found the Director super entitled; when his two friends were apologizing to him I was rolling my eyes. Not only did he find an apartment/house to live in with no qualms (and just like that moved out??), the other two should not have been apologizing. Why were they apologizing when they have the right to have their own lives and get their own jobs (when throughout the movie they supposedly needed the money!). Not to mention, the romance between the Director and Reese Witherspoon was so stupid; I felt like their relationship was rushed to that one scene where they were watching the three brothers' movie. I felt like Reese had much more substance with the Writer (but then again, was the Writer's interest in Reese even necessary? I felt like their friendship was way more important and his attraction to Reese was forced). The Third Brother was kind of useless in the movie. Also, the daughter was supposedly super anxious and even thought she had depression (???) and Reese completely ignored it? Not to mention it was either fixed or just not mentioned throughout the rest of the movie when it should have been a key point in the daughter's life. This movie is obviously supposed to be a lighthearted rom com, but it isn't even a good one. There were no warm/cute feels, only annoyance. Reese barely works in the movie but when she does it's with a very stupid designer who isn't an important part of the movie either. Again, I point out that her working seemed dull/unimportant (when it should have been), and showed how privileged Reese was. How was she supposedly "horrible" at her job and "couldn't keep" a job yet still never have to worry about money? Finally, Reese was kind of pulling the Director along throughout the movie. At least with her Ex Husband she made sure to give him obvious, verbal signs that she didn't like him. But what annoyed me was that she didn't let him apologize at the *one* instance where he couldn't make it to the party but she knew that the Director had a very important meeting to go to for *money* (that the Three Brother's supposedly desperately needed) and he did text her that he would be late (I know she was mad b/c she was stood up by her Ex Husband all the time but the Director isn't her Ex Husband, and she barely gave the Director a chance). Basically, the plot of the movie could have been good, but damn they really dropped the ball w/ almost all the scenes because the characters have no substance and there is no character development whatsoever.
