*Spoilers further down* I enjoyed it and as a huge fan of the original, I was very skeptical! However, I agree with many others that end was rushed and a lot of storylines with amazing potential were rushed or not explored! Massive praise to the cast though and the LGBT themes and messages were really good. Effects were good (sometimes a bit too “Disney” magic and not realistic if that makes sense. In the original, you felt that those things could happen that way as there were less sparkles). Spoilers ahead! Personally I think this would have been better as a series. In a series, they would’ve had more time to explore Adam and his sons, given Timmy a better conclusion and explained how Lily is Nancy’s daughter. For example who is her father and how did that all come about? I’d like to have known more about the other 3 girls and see more about the Timmy and Isaiah relationship! And if they weren’t going to explore them as characters, Adam could’ve easily had just one son instead of 3 so hopefully they can be expanded in the future. As what’s going to happen to them now their father is dead? So a good, easy watch movie with a fantastic cast but with a few holes and storyline misses! Hopefully another film could explore these characters and storylines in more detail or this movie could be a pilot for a series!
