Tonally misjudged. Not sure who it is aimed at. Seems to be the result of a director who would rather make R-rated horror films and a studio battling to maintain consistency with the franchise both having a hand on the wheel.

Great fun. Stay away from the trailer if you can. The less you know the better.

Obviously not for the prude but a gripping thriller that plays on very contemporary issues and deals with its subject matter in a way that feels completely non-judgmental and non-exploitative. People who complain about the films values are missing the point. People who complain about the lack of explanation are missing the point. There is enough to read between the lines of what is going on and what is significant. I was pleasantly surprised by just how good Cam is.

Am I the only person who found this version duller and stupider than the theatrical version? It was a structural mess. Just 4 hours of more material than Snyder knew what to do with. The run time and the dark artsy touch do nothing to fix the fact that the story has nothing original to offer, the team have no chemistry whatsoever, Steppenwholf is the dullest villain of all time, and there is no sense of trepidation because you know the world won’t end and there are no characters who you think might die. I believe the reason it has been well received is because the expectations for this franchise are so low by this point. The Marvel movies may be light-hearted and quippy but they are written with a hundred times more intellect then this so-called film.

Undoubtedly Marvels funniest movie to date (sorry Guardians). Its depth is limited. It makes light of what should actually be dramatic and game-changing events. It is tonally not what one would expect from a conclusive trilogy instalment and is therefore best viewed instead as an intermediate chapter of MCU. But all this hardly matters when you’re laughing all the way through.

An all-round great movie and I am somewhat baffled by the mass hatred for this film. I suspect it stems from a close-mindedness of certain franchise fans who were thrown off by the fact that the central theme was largely romantic rather than the usual ‘villain face off’ stuff. Admittedly the villain is dull, but this is a film that carries strongly on humour, heart, breath-taking visuals and a complex dynamic between Thor and Loki.
