Politics aside the worst part of the entire movie, and this is no spoiler because it’s what the movie is about, is that they give no explanation why one has to be sacrificed. No aliens, no spirits, no multiverse, absolutely no depth to the story. A decent thriller but with no mental stimulation, so it leaves you feeling dumb. Dumb because the movie treats you like a child. Edit: Batista did an excellent job but the director of the movie just told everyone “just shake the entire movie as you speak or do anything to make it seem like you’re scared”.
