Have only played 6 games so far and while I've noticed some decent improvements in the gameplay and movements of the players, overall the game isn't that much different from FIFA 20. The referring is still atrocious, as any 50/50 challenge always goes to the AI. Even simple tackles or shoulder bumps are called against the team I'm using but never for the AI controlled team. This has been a glaring issue for many years but EA seems to think it's not broken.
While so far I've only played FUT I will give Career Mode a go, if only to see what "improvements" they implemented into it this year. Also, is it just me or are cards on the transfer market WAY overpriced. I love FUT but am not spending money on packs to get a 75 rated CM. It's a massive rip-off.
Overall, I have to say I'm not that excited about this year's edition. Yes, the gameplay has improved and the mechanics feel smoother, but that should be expected on a game that releases a new version every 12 months.
Happy to have the new version, but not doing cartwheels either.
