A lot of effort went into this show and the quality is good, but it’s an absolute butchery of one of the greatest stories written in the last 50 years… do yourself a favor and watch the 1980 series or read the book first so that you can appreciate all the plots, intrigue and romance that this show completely skips over. By the 2nd episode, I strongly felt that the show writers had been given a checklist of major events by an 11 year old boy who thought romance was icky and had to connect them to make the show. At the same time, they were forbidden from referencing any of the source materials so they just had to make it all up. Whole series feels like GoT seasons 7 and 8. Hot dumpster fire with great visuals built on the ruins of a great story.
