If I put aside the horrible villains, awful CGI and costuming, cringey dialog and cliches etc... this movie is still a pointless and lowkey sexist mess. The first movie was magical and tear jerking, this movie took Wonder Woman and made her a weak, reliant waste of space. She is portrayed as depressed and still not over Steve after 80 years, she loses her power when he gets brought back, and I’m pretty sure the villans ended up getting more screen Time than her. The action scenes were meh, and incredibly spread out. Idk why it was set in the 80s? There was barley any nostalgia and it had no bearing on the plot. I feel like they skipped over so many great time periods they could have set Wonder Woman sequels in like WW2 or the 50s, and instead chose the 80s because there “trendy”. It felt like a cash grab. I could have re-watched stranger things season 3 if I wanted a 1980s mall fight scene and 4th of July fireworks. I honestly want to forget this move existed, punch patty Jenkins in the throat and go watch the “no mans land” scene from the first movie to try and cleanse my eyeballs.
