This might be the best Pokémon game in this day and age. I love the open world setting and new Pokémon. Many people criticize it for its bad performance, but besides the slight lag and graphical issues, I have not seen any serious problems. Great game for the older Switch console. For the Pokémon companies first true open world game, it is nothing short of a masterpiece. Performance- 6/10: while there are no serious problems I have encountered over 20 hours of gameplay, the graphics are not great, and the rendering is quite lacking. No game breaking issues I have seen so far though. Pokémon- 10/10: The new Pokémon are awesome with great designs. The word is full of them, and they run around like they should. The world feels very alive with them. Gameplay-8/10: While not as smooth as Legends Arceus, the game is still quite smooth when it comes to battle transitions, shopping, picnics and traversing the world. There are many quality of life improvements since Gen 8 such as move learning, EV and IV setting and much more. Story- 9/10: For the past three generations I have hated the story, but Scarlet and Violet have some of the best Pokémon stories I have ever played. With the three different storylines, it does not feel repetitive like some of the previous games. The characters are way better than Sword and Shield, but the they are not as devolved as I would have liked. Very enjoyable story overall though.
