If I could give it ten stars, I would. The amount of care and compassion that was poured into each minute of footage is astounding. Each character is unique and interesting. The score gives an indescribably feeling of nostalgia and a dark sense of calm. The voice actors clearly put every ounce of there souls into every line. The complex world these writers and creators have created is so lovely. I simply enjoy every second watching this show! The dark undertone that is constantly present in each individual episode is quite refreshing. The beautiful combination of classic and contemporary, comedy and drama fits together too perfectly. Animation is beautifully detailed, yet simple and soothing. The overarching mystery surrounding the Beast and the Woodsman is so incredibly well developed, and the magical element in each episode leaves me wishing we learned more about this complex world, but glad the series ended where it did. Jack Jones performance as the narrator and singing most of the tracks is absolutely outstanding! There is mystery, humor, symbolism, drama, fantasy, and a lovely touch of a warped version of nostalgia.
