I had great hopes for this movie. I only was able to watch 30 minutes or so because it was so b o r i n g . And I love ballet and know the Nureyev story! I felt I was being shown a travelogue of Paris, the Louvre, the cafes, the walks along the Seine. There was hardly any dance. This is not a dance performance, but I'd have liked to see some indication that Nureyev was especially talented, indeed, spectacular, before he emigrated. There was no such indication in the 30 minutes I watched. I simply couldn't spend the time waiting for something to happen. Not only did the main character known for dancing not dance hardly at all, but when he walked the city sites, he acted obnoxiously to everyone who was trying to help him. He was difficult in the Soviet Union, and I'm sure he was difficult in the West. Many people enjoyed the movie, but I simply didn't have the patience.
