This version of the Stand was a bit ' hit and miss' for me, as a fan of the book and more so of the first tv version I kept an open mind while watching this new adaptation. I have to say there were a few stand out performances ' no pun intended.
Amber Heard's performance was convincing as was Brad William as Tom Cullen.
A star each for them.
I felt as if the character development was rushed as the first TV series was 3 hours shorter but came across more convincingly and I was able to understand each character as they were introduced. This version didn't hit the mark and it felt as if a key figure in this story was missed, only to be found in a unattached timeline later on.
This direction also tried to come across darker than the original version and may have been pulled back due to censorship or not previewing well, this gave it an incomplete feel and the editing is quite obviously made the storyline a little confusing, for me at least.
Alexander Skarsgard as RF was the most disappointing character in this series and he just didn't come across as the villain he portrays, if this is the devil then the future is safe from the 'walking dude'!
This was difficult to watch at times so I hope any future remakes of Stephen King's stories aren't rushed like this was.
