I was looking for something new to get into. My music was getting stale, in fact, I was starting to recycle some of my old 90s music for the nostalgia of my 20s. Then I wasn't even watching AGT, but it was on behind a program that had just gone off and Stephen Sang "Until I found you, " with a former contestant of the show Kodi Lee. I was stunned, i shushed everyone else in the house and was mesmerized by both the song and him. I didn't realize it, but that was what I had been looking (listening) for. He was equal parts Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Brian Wilson with just enough Tiny Tim in his vibrato at the right times to not be off-putting; then mix in just enough teen dream appeal to not be annoying like the equivalent of zesting a lemon of Harry Styles and Sean Mendez to complete the package. Its one of the few albums that I bought in its entirety having only listened to one song and one of the few albums that I liked every song on. While there are some female backing vocals here and there, he doesn't need them. There is a video companion to the album available on you tube that is perfect. This concept album landed right with me for some reason that doesn't make sense as that with the exception of Brian Wilson, no one I listed above as his infulces am I a fan of. Listen to it once, I can almost guarantee you'll like at least one song if you like a variety of music. If you're genre specific, I would say that if you like Western (not country), blues, The Beach Boys (60s Era) or teen dream type music, you'll like this.
