Not worth a watch! Dialogue is diabolical, story line is totally unbelievable (yes,I understand it's fiction but in my opinion, it should still be either believable or sequential). Flip me, the female protagonist would have been born when her mum was 13-14, which is possible but in this setting but inconsistent. At one point, the daughter was go8ng to bed straight after school and, unless they lived in Alaska (they didn't) day was night and vice versa! ABHORRENT...but I'm a stickler for watching until the end...which was probably the best part!

I felt the casting was good; storyline well executed with a few flaws but the ending (SPOILER ALERT!)...disappointing..it didn't just leave me dangling...it made me NOT want to go through a sequel only to find another!!!

The acting is outstanding!!! For the most part just the two main characters. I loved the whole story from both perspectives. Emma Thompson at 63....amazing body!!!!

Film...not good; book...excellent! In my opinion what was lacking in the film was inner-voice narration from the characters: actors can only do so much with facial expressions and stance etc. Tom Wolfe mustn't have had much say in this I assume(?).

Oh my goodness!...the 'story ', reality for alot of people, sensitively and, dare I say, beautifully portrayed..... The actors, music, surroundings *especially London flat with windowed doors! Anthony Hopkins and Fiona Coleman et al were amazing!!!
