I have been a fan and follower of To The Contrary for years. I was greatly disappointed on Sunday, February 24, 2019. The program included a segment on Pope Francis and Sexual Abuse. I agree that the Pope and hierarchy are not doing enough. However, the discussion didn't address the real causes of child molestation and sexual abuse by adults mostly men. To suggest that if priests were allowed to marry, the number of child perpetration incidents would decrease lacks knowledge. Men (mostly) who chose to seduce and sexually abuse or molest children both boys and girls are according to the research incapable of forming an adult sexual relationship and resort to engaging with someone who has less authority or power. I would encourage Bonnie and the rest of the panel to better prepare on the topic before program taping. On the subject of homosexuality, that is entirely a different topic both in the laity and within the catholic or christian church and worthy of exploration. Thank you.
