I’ve read the book, so I was a bit disappointed by a handful of prominent details being left out of the movie. First and foremost being the scene that a young Kya goes to her one and only day of school. She went bc of the promised hot lunch. Yet in the movie she didn’t stay til lunch. In the book she took her leftover lunch with her after fleeing a day of school…. This small detail bothered me. The movie is a solid good and the story is lovely 🥰

Truth be told, I am not a fan of Amy Schumer. There is almost nothing about her that I don’t find annoying. But I do appreciate the Food Network, so I attempted to watch this series. I didn’t get past the first episode. It’s sort of like watching a serious chef trying to instructionally prepare a meal while an intoxicated, sexually driven woman runs amuck while doing her best to be the center of attention. It’s tacky.

Elisabeth Moss shines in this movie, she is so inspiring to watch. Her skills are authentic and classic. She’s got a natural beauty that is magnified in her work. This movie is a contemporary version of a tale over 100 years old and it’s told creativity. 4 stars, must see.

I appreciate the content of this series as well as the fact that some of the storylines are loosely based on real cases. It's about time that Hollywood bring the horrific epidemic of wrongful convictions and coorsed confessions to the small screen. Bravo.
