I'd never seen anything of this series previous to last night, where I watched at first confused and puzzled but then dazzled by the power of the unfolding action that affected me emotionally. This is fine drama! How did I miss it before?

I think Allie is great I've loved listening to her busking etc. So I listened to all these songs. The format with a simple clear voice and the backing music is a really good balance. We can hear the sound of her voice and how she sings. I love that clarity. It's brave reflecting her character. But!...
For me, these song lyrics; of missing someone who makes her feel things, etc - which admittedly is the usual context of many so-called 'Love songs' is a mistaken view of the self. It is saying; that my happiness is dependent on another individual. This is not actually true. We may allow ourselves to feel like this, but it's handing 'Power over me' (Us) to someone else. Others don't create our feelings and responses - we do! We are shaping our lives!
I think Allie wrote some of these songs, but all I recall from listening to them all is my mind saying; No; please don't give the power to be happy or love to another! I wonder if I'm right?
