I give the five stars because I have thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 episodes and am waiting eagerly for more. The plot is subtle and hard to grasp but it already has its hooks in me. The creators have a tall bill in attempting to work within the genius of Tolkien's world without disappointing die-hard fans. Those who have read the Silmarillion will undoubtedly find errors in the plot, but they have stayed true to the core of Tolkien's history. I am pleased with this adaptation and find it more compelling than the Hobbit trilogy. I cannot speak highly enough of the casting, sets, and special effects. My breath was taken away by the glorious rendering of the great Elven and Dwarven cities. Thank you Amazon for taking this on and not botching it like the Wheel of Time.
