There’s something about the writing style that makes me think the author did very little research to make the battle scenes feel authentic. For example, two axes is a terrible choice for weaponry. It feels like someone read a tiny bit of fantasy and then plunged in to rehash their own version with very little to make it unique. With a random bit of gay thrown in as an afterthought. I dunno, didn’t feel it, sorry.
