I really wanted to love this new Harry Hole novel. I had read all the previous Nesbo novels and was happy to see Hole back. The novel starts out with a new slant which drew me in. But this Harry version is flat and boring. He’s just a redo of the Harry in the first novels. The violence against women and kids is predictable to attract attention but so formulaic and pointless for the plot. It’s well written… even polished but feels like AI could have written this one. I’ll say good-bye to Nesbo.
