“You can’t wake up unless you fall asleep!”
This for me was the whole point of the movie. We watch everyone (color) running around experiencing life’s dramas. We watch everyone running around (black and white) creating the dramas that are to be acted, out of their own dramas. Until the playwright calls for a scene where everyone is asleep and asks if anyone has been asleep on stage. Just one! You can’t wake up or know your awake unless you realize you’ve been asleep. Or realize it’s a play.
Even the alien wasn’t interested in the players. It was there only for the asteroid. The lives of the actors were basically uninteresting, just human experiences.
Was there a last final word after all the credits??
