Kristen did a great job however the storyline and pace of the movie was diabolical to say the least.
You assume the slow pace is just at the beginning but it’s pretty much the atmosphere of the entire movie.
I understand what the writers wanted to do however the story fell short when capturing Diana’s essence to the audience. Some
Parts are graphic and meant to emphasize on the relatable and “royal taboo” of mental health however, too much focus was on her character being dysfunctional, almost like a daze throughout the movie with no sense of reason - which made her character unbearable to watch. I feel that the balance was off in portraying the princess and the direction lacked the allowance of contrast of her struggles vs her amazing grace.
Although I understand that the director wanted to project on the surrounding anxiety and build up scenes to encompass a dramatic end, this too fell short and dragged the storyline to a less than desirable climax.
