Andor & Rogue One are what I always imagined a modernized version of Star Wars would look like: hard edged, blurred lines (yet with clearly identifiable right and wrong), characters facing difficult choices. I do miss the optimistic outlook and light humor. This is much the same as the old Battlestar Galactica and the modernized Galactica.
Andor and Rogue One don't suffer from the failings of the most recent Disney Star Wars films and series. Those failings most notably introduced the elevation of women by diminishing and emasculating men by making them all morons and buffoons. Is it really elevation if you are simply diminishing male roles? I never viewed Star Wars as having weak female characters. Disney's Star Wars has weakened female roles by cheapening male roles.
I look forward to more Andor and more Star Wars stories from it's creators.
