I’m not really into the Batman genre but stumbled onto this film and ,wow, what a surprise. I was hooked. Joachim phoenix’s performance is amazingly mercurial and disturbing in this surprisingly good film. Only weakness is the slight mis casting of the “girlfriend “ in the adjacent apartment. Photography and directorship is exemplary. Watched it on a plane so would be better full screen.
