The Owl House is a fun animated series with a lot of promise. It has similarities with Gravity Falls and in fact Alex Hirsch is involved as a voice actor and creative consultant. With the conclusion of the first season, I would say The Owl House is a really good show with the potential to become a truly great show in future. It has an interesting world with interesting likable characters. In particular, the application of magical abilities and how witches operate within the world is interesting to learn about. It is also notable for featuring positive LGBT representation with a romance growing between the characters of Luz and Amity. My only real complaint is that there are too many filler episodes. While they are fun and do a good job of fleshing out the characters and the setting, they take focus away from the central story. My hope is that season 2 will feature a tighter plot and higher emotional stakes. Overall, a really good show and I hope it gets even better.
