I have not read the book, but I am a Stephen King fan. This movie was… good. It wasn’t great. It was entertaining enough to keep me watching until the end, but could have been so much better. First of all, the acting was subpar. I love Alfre Woodard, so she could do no wrong, and the kid that plays Mark was great. Everyone else was average. Maybe they needed better writing. The comedic timing was also terrible. I think if this was a series and the characters were more fleshed out and the writing was better, this could have been an awesome adaptation. All that to say, it’s an alright film, and you should watch it to form your own opinion.

Great movie. They don’t make them like this anymore. The simpleness and lack of CGI and everything else is what adds to the scariness. It feels more real. Now, as for the other commenters saying it’s all real, are full of it 🤣 It was BASED on a family’s account of what happened… if you believe in that kind of stuff… which I don’t. But even if you believe the family experienced paranormal events, the movie is still a movie and took theatrical liberties. Anyways, I agree with the positive reviews on this classic horror film. If you are a fan of horror, then this is a must watch. The version starring Ryan Reynolds is decent too… and it scared the crap out of me from what I remember when I watched it.

What are all of the people who gave 1 ⭐️ thinking??!! Some of y'all are weird! I love all three of these movies!! New faves! Definitely disturbing and grotesque at times, but so good!!

I don’t understand any negative reviews on these movies. They are all great. Maybe “too much” for some? If you go in expecting a really gnarly horror film with great acting and a unique angle, then you will appreciate it for what it is. I am new to the A24 universe, and I feel like I have found my niche of horror films. So good. Lots of great acting and some big names! Going to see what other gems I can find!

Another great show for spooky season! Why have I never heard of all of these gems on Netflix?! I must have been watching the wrong shows to tailor my recommendations! This came out two years ago!! Superb cast and terrific writing. Also, if you are claustrophobic, prepare yourself for the “Graveyard Rats” episode. You have been warned! 😳

I am halfway through the series, and I just had to leave a review and say WTF? This show is really freaking good and really freaking scary. I had never even heard of it before it came up in my recommendations. I am discovering so many hidden gems this way. Crazy how many great shows exist that we never hear about.

That was SO GOOD!!! The acting! The twists! The funny bits! So great. I have read three books by Elin Hilderbrand, and did not love them… looks like I was reading the wrong ones. I should have picked The Perfect Couple, because it follows Hilderbrand’s trademark formula, but also includes a murder mystery… which just added to the entertainment value. The people who wrote poor reviews for the show are mostly basing their opinion on Nicole Kidman’s plastic surgery or the stereotypes 🙄… not the entertainment value or the impressive writing. I am sure the over the top stereotypes and campiness of the show was on purpose… to poke fun. I found those aspects HILARIOUS! Watch it!

I don’t care what anyone else says… this is a fantastic rendition of “The Haunting of Hill House”. A little campy, typical 90’s scary movie, but it gets the job done if you’re looking for goosebumps and creepy haunted house vibes. Catherine Zeta Jones as Theo is great, and Owen Wilson as Luke adds the perfect comedic relief. And of course, the King, Liam Neeson is {chefs kiss}. If you want the bone chilling, truly scary version, watch the Netflix series next!!
