I was born in 1987 and have closely grown up with Mario/Nintendo. This movie is a love letter to anyone who is a longtime Mario/Luigi/Super Bros./Nintendo games. It’s SO good. The details, the sound, the songs, the incorporation of so many games over the decades is spot on. And the casting is fabulous. There’s an amazing mix of old school voice sounds with modern day amazing actors that it is hard to believe Bowser, Peach, Luigi or whoever ever sounded different in the original games. My kids have watched this everyday since we purchased it, and it has piqued their interest in old games…namely Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros. Nintendo had made these old games very accessible if you have a newer console like the switch. I was surprised to find a bunch of old Super Nintendo games free on the switch if you have a Nintendo account. Makes me feel happy to be able to share with my 7 year old.
