Hands down one of the finest, most harrowing and devastating books I’ve ever read. I literally threw it at the wall the first time I finished it and it haunted me for three years until I picked it up again. That time I knew what to expect so I was able to go in eyes open. I’m now reading it a third time, as a salve. A salve to the wounds it left on my soul after the first reading and without the trepidation I experienced in the second reading, waiting for the end that would destroy me again. If you are a glutton for punishment and want to immerse yourself fully into the worlds of these beautiful characters, I recommend this book as high as I possibly can.
