As a new starter on the Fourth Way, I have read several books, but did not initially comprehended or truly understood their contents. Having read “Secrets”, for me personally, it has given me a better understanding of the ideas and concepts relating to Gurdjieff. Subsequently, he led me to Alan Francis’s “International School of the Fourth way”. Which I highly recommend also. Core concepts of the Fourth Way in relation to Identification, Self Observation, Self Remembering, external considering and negative emotions are explained in a manner I found easier to grasp, thru Alan’s explanations. The ‘handbook of energy’ found within “Secrets” has opened up a new world for me. Together with the exercises found at the back, this book has really aided me, to initiate correctly the practice of the Fourth Way. It is clear to me that Alan truly is a Master of the Fourth Way, especially in regards to the studies of higher being bodies. Alan Francis has direct lineage to Lord Pentland and was one of his students. Therefore, if you are a seeker and aim to bring some clarity and develop your comprehension to Gurdjieff teachings, do not hesitate to purchase this book. Having done so myself, it has opened up a new world to me, that was hidden. Furthermore, I now look at all the Fourth Way literature in a new light. Secrets of the Fourth Way, for me, was the book that was the gateway to this happening. I am on my second reading of “Secrets”, and more and more comes apparent, therefore I’ll be reading this book at least 3 times, probably, more. Cannot wait for the second installment from Alan.
