Brilliant acting and creative storyline - not formulaic like so much tv.

This series brought up the question of how we view mothers in society in a way I’ve never considered before. Mothers are held to a much higher standard than fathers. I’m not sure if this series seeks to highlight this unfairness or perpetuates the stereotype of it being ok that men being absent breadwinners (in the case of the Richardson’s) while mothers give up their careers and are left with the burden of parenting. I’d love to see a series that finds a balance between normalising the equal roles of both parents in raising children and having careers.

The first episode was brilliant. It really presented a very real perspective of what it must be like in the real world to be a refugee, rather just what the media and politicians show. It shows the human suffering and desperation of asylum seekers. Can’t wait for the next episode.
