Thomas' review, with all due respect, smacks of presumptuousness that, if you'll forgive the irony, can only be born out of privilege. The fact that he found this book so indigestible that he rated it one single star out of five, calling bell hooks a "boomer", speaks to the depth of his ignorance and probably to the fact that its contents made him uncomfortable. This is a seminal piece of feminist literature and a timeless book that is just as much if not more important as when it came out, for men and women.
