I am quite late, seeing that the game was released some 5 years ago. I first played this last year in October. The guy who sold me his PS4 said I would not like it, because "the enemies come back" after you die. A friend watching me play it said I would get tired of facing the same foes. I was full of anxiety, wonder and excitement. The first area of the game, usually before the first boss, was the toughest part of any game I've ever played. I kept dying again and again, slowly I began putting together pieces and untangling the story. I developed a theory, all while dying an innumerable number of times and playing what amounts to less than 5% of the full game with the DLC. I fell in love. I have never said "I love it" when talking about an object and feel such a wave of resonance go all over my body. What I was yet to find was that I would finish the game three times and still want to come back for more. The gameplay is very smooth, fast-paced and violent. If there is an edge where fear and excitement meet, it is called Bloodborne.
