The great thing about this movie is you can shower, make dinner, read great expectations and still return and miss nothing. Laborious is redefined in this 200 minute flagellation of mafia gang culture in 1960s America. Most of us will only live 70 years odd so don't waste 3 hours your life.

Sweep the edit room floor, mash together the last 20 sci fi movies going back 30 years from the cuttings and bingo you have DUNE. 40 Minutes in and the realisation hits your cerebral cortex that the film is running so slowly that it cant have an ending THIS TIME and so this is PART ONE only, the starter the aperitif a hook to carry you into 2,3,4 ... (you get the idea, think star ways after 3, fast and the furious 1-8,9 etc) think lego franchising and soft toys and theme burgers this is the new reality of film making where one just wont do its about crating a brand and unlike the brilliance of star wars (1-3) with original characters we feel for, love, relate to sympathise with, with an epic story that carries the day Dune has none of this. The Cast is as dull and lifeless as the planet on which the story (chapter one) is set.
