Chapter 1: overall album This album is one of the craziest emotional rollercoasters in rap history. Starting with tracks that sound extremely emotional (like together, taking a walk, and wish) to normal everyday rap and back and forth. Hell half of the tracks on this album might be on a mcr, radiohead level, and even the non-emotional tracks are extremely catchy. The only track on this album that is mid is uka uka (excluding the feature) Overall I rate the album a 8/10 as its one of the best and catchiest rap albums of the late-2010s. Chapter 2: Track-by-track reviews Together 2nd most emotional and relatable track on the album. IMO i think the track is about relationship issues and trippie tryna keep the relationship going strong despite knowing that its gonna end. I rate the track a 10/10. Taking a Walk Yet another emotional track about how people want trip to commit s word and how they are basically praying on his downfall. Amazing beat, 9/10 Wish Damn this is why diplo is one of my favorite djs/producers of the 21st century, the instrumental is amazing and the topic (trip falling in love) is great but i dont really like the post chorus. 8/10 track Missing My Idols This song has a pretty good flow to it. Beat kinda reminds me of nice for what by drake. 7.5/10 track just dont really like the melody in some parts of the songs Forever Ever Oooh dont get me started on this song. The rnb touch to it makes my brain wanna explode from how good it is (accurate description right?). Just like most songs on LIFES A TRIP this song is about how trip wants to keep his bond with his partner foreva foreva eva eva. 9/10 track the autotune kinda mid tho Bird Shit Great song but some of the lyrics kinda remind me of ice spice (shitty niggas they a turd, yeah) the song is very catchy too. 8.5/10 track BANG! The intro and other parts of the song is emotional and trips screaming followed by “baby yes youre mine baby yes youre fine” just gives me goosebumps. Guitar in the beat is really good. 9/10 track How You Feel The guitar in the beat and his vocals reminds me alot of radiohead/linkin park. The song overall is about trip feeling like no one cares about him (very relatable we all have that feeling during depression) Yet another emotional song on this album, 10/10 track. Dark Knight Dummo TS fire with travis and trip on the SAME EXACT SONG along with the beat drop after the pre-chorus “I PULL UP IN THE DROP TOP SHE DROP DEAD” So catchy that theres not much to say about it besides the screaming goes so well. 8/10 track Uka Uka This song would fit alot if it was unreleased. I kinda hear a magnolia sample dont really know if its there tho. 6/10 track Shake It Up Very catchy, melody kinda reminds me of post malone. Lyrics kinda repetitive but you hear that with every single soundcloud rapper. 7.5/10 track Oomps Revenge Great sample and his vocals. All that needs to be said. 9/10 Gore In this song trip expresses his feeling of power and strength. I like the snare too and the rhyme scheme. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THAT especially wit the “left and came back like the lebron heat days” i glaze that lyric as an nba fan. 8/10 track Underwater FlyZone Shi almost got me crying wit the piano and heavy emotional lyrics. Makes me feel like hugging trip and saying “u ok bro?” Definitely the most emotional track on this album and in trips entire career too. 10/10 track
