I went to the movie fully confident that I would love it because Poor Things became my favorite film, and Lanthimos' other movies like The Lobster or The Favourite were great too.
This movie is an anthology film in three parts. The first part was great, but the second two were such nonsense that the metaphors just didn’t make sense anymore, and it was horribly disgusting and boring to watch. And I’m saying this as someone who loves festival films and arthouse cinema like Aronofsky’s work. It was just too much.
I haven’t read the reviews yet, but honestly, I doubt anyone could convince me otherwise.
Even my friend, who loves absurdism, just left during the movie. I regretted not following his example
