Hilariously out-of-touch and naive. Alex Garland seems to think journalists are merely gore-photographers. He seems to think combat zones in the future will look like they did in the late 20th century (spoiler alert, it has already changed quite a bit.) He also mistakes being vague and generic as being politically neutral or balanced. You could get a more realistic view of the world from Sonic the Hedgehog (2020). This film cements Alex Garland as one of the most overrated and pretentious directors of his generation.
