How this unfocused clusterf*** of a supposed murder mystery among super wealthy has everybody wound up is the actual mystery here. Over six rambling episodes it never seems to make up its mind to whether it’s a thriller, a whodunnit, a comedy, a social satire and never really comes across as if it gives a damn. A rather brilliant cast is abandoned by a nonsensical script that just makes up its missing pieces as it rambles into the night, never really caring for any of its characters - not to mention the multiple timeline editing that mostly serves to stuff the plot holes as the series increasingly rapid takes in water. The final episode is a marvel of its own as Bier finally gives up and just puts an end to the misery with a Mama Mia dance-off and a ‘none-of-this-ever-mattered’ one take leaving the audience as insulted as the murder victim in the shallow waters of Nantucket.
