The part about the show that actually brought me joy was our so called sad defeat scene in the final episode with Jade.
We're meant to be cheering for our hero jade, but throughout this entire show she has been written as the worst possible role model ever, which was beautifully summarized and smeared in her face by Billie.
I don't understand how we are meant to feel bad for Jade when she had literally been the cause of 90% of the problems. It would be unique if that was the objective, make the protagonist the bad guy! However, the amount of times her mistakes have been brushed off, and she isn't portrayed as the bad person, I don't believe that was done purposely at all. Literally everyone is the bad guy in here, and there is nothing to root for.
Even scene where Jade brings the zombie onto the ship for ~science~ felt absolutely nonsensical. Jade has been studying zombies, saw that one crazy cat lady's husband rip he's own hands off to attack someone, a character with this writing and experience should be expected to know those flimsy rope restraints wouldn't hold a zombie!!! That can't even be chalked up to "ooh it's the kids fault" or "she just made a mistake." No. That is just poor writing.
Even from a non resident evil prospective, the message about "your dad (wesker) was bad, but he could have been a lot worse." is such a toxic message to push to people!
I hope this doesn't get a second season. Please, I do not want you to ruin Ada.
