DUNE (2021) is a a visually gratifying experience. Having been exposed to the books it definitely does its best to amaze and draw you into the political, historical and cultural aspects of the DUNE universe. Through meticulous and well written dialogue and beautifully shot scenes you begin to understand the motivations and obstacles the main characters have and their motivations to achieve their respective goals. Even though the movie is an incomplete story, it does stand on its legs to make me desire to see the story in its completion. My only two grievances would be the pacing (though probably done intentionally because the source material is intellectually dense) and the fractured visions of possible futures that Paul has to choose and learn from provide some confusion at first watch. Overall great story, hopefully WB will allow the sequel to come to fruition.
