A good, action-packed movie. I don’t get why people would rate this so low, it was amazing! The ending was a little confusing, and there were some parts that were definitely PG-13. Here’s a summary with my opinion (spoilers included!)
After the death of their child David, parents Jack and Rose (why does this remind me of Titanic?) fall into habits such as gambling, drinking, etc. Their children soon start to feel alone and disappear into their own worlds, (Peter into schoolwork and Alice wanting to become a young lady with the tutoring of her nasty old aunt Eleanor). Then, as Jack gambles, he loses and has to pay debts to his estranged brother CJ (Captain James Hook). The two children then venture off into London to enlist the help of the mysterious CJ, it turns out he gave them a bag of worthless coins disguised as gold. Then, Jack visits his long lost bro. As he doesn’t have the money, CJ cuts off his own brother’s hand and brands it, as a mark to show what he had to pay. (Dang, why can’t families be more forgiving!?!?) Then, when Eleanor wants to take Alice away to become a proper lady, she runs off down the rabbit hole, as opposed to Peter going with the lost boys and fighting CJ and his goons. Peter wins the battle and cuts off CJ’s hand, and he falls-right into the mouth of the hungry Tick-Tock Croc. With CJ defeated, Peter takes his gold and leaves them behind to his family before going off with the Lost boys on adventures. Alice grows up and marries a dude and has a bunch of kids, and she adopts the name “Alice Darling,” indicating that she may have married into the Darling family that is friends with her brother. It might be John or Michael Darling from the tale.
