From all the positives reviews I saw of this film, I was hoping for something better than what I got. Director Jacob Chase doesn't bring anything fresh or new to this genre. The movie is extremely paint-by-the-numbers in terms of jump scares, plot, atmosphere, and characters. Even the setting, centered around the of use of smart phones and tablets, feels very played out and dry. Gillian Jacobs gives the worst acting performance of her career. When she's asking the TV why it's haunting her and her family, her delivery of most of her lines comes out as forced and dull. I busted out laughing. The "monster" Larry, even seems photoshopped and copied from other 2010s horror films. Skip this flick. It's a waste of your time, honestly. 🤷♂️😒
