For a movie of its age it has some of the greatest cinematography i have ever seen that has aged almost perfectly. The music is awe-inspiring and captivates the epic scenes with perfection. Although some scenes (such as the astronaut breathing in space) was somewhat difficult to listen to, it still lets you understand the situation and places you in a "first person" experience. The scenes that include HAL are some of the most daunting and fascinating parts of the film that lend a creative and extremely original "SCI-FI" example of artificial intelligence.
A word that i thought summarised the film quite well was, sensational. Even though it can be perceived as "boring" or "tedious" i feel that although slow at times it gives an extremely thought provoking and philosophical experience to the viewer.
