It took me quite a while to realise that this was a “ sci fi” novel , for want of another word . There was considerable discussion early in the book setting the theme of “time” and mentioning Greenwich the base of measured time in our world. After the clockmaker’s daughter died, she and Edward were then reincarnated in each era up until the present day, with the manor and the clearing being the connective scenes. Am I the only person, who realised this?
