Gaps in character development that would have given more depth. Dialogue difficult to depict. Flashbacks to early childhood explored Marley’s sense of self, but would better have been supported by early adulthood flashbacks showing his rise in popularity and explaining the risk in safety. Compared to recent Biopics that leave the viewer wanting to re-explore the musical catalog of the subject, this did nothing of the sort. It was narrow and shallow and missed the mark
