A whirlwind of emotions,wrapped up into a two-hour long masterpiece. The Whale is not cinematic wonder, in that it is not aesthetically joyful. However, the raw emotion, the acting, and the journey make it spectacular.
I have not cried in many years,but I shed some tears in the cinema watching The Whale. I truly loved this film.

It was entertaining, gritty, and nostalgic but let down by a need to be something it is not.
The film starts with everything that was great about the Luther series; Idris' internal battles, his lust for justice. Unfortunately, the ending felt very James Bond - leaving the film confused about its identity.
