Kids dad is shot down in (Middle Eastern Arabic country) and held prisoner, sentenced to be hanged. Frustrated by this, a group of Air Force brats band together with the help of a reserve colonel to steal 2 F-16s and the son and colonel fly from California to the middle east... (the trip would be like 7 times the range of an F-16) where they kill lots of other kids' dads and cause an international incident in this "feel good story" to save his dad. It's so dumb. Nothing makes any kind of sense at all. The soundtrack can't save it. At least Top Gun was rooted in some semblance of reality.

The action and combat scenes were so corny. Besides those being designed by a teenager, some parts were cool and had the same vibe and rhythm of the original.
